DAVAN, Clarence

Clarence F. Davan of Veedersburg, age 77, died Tuesday afternoon, November 17, in St. Elizabeth Hospital at Danville, Illinois. He was born in Vermilion County, Illinois, September 24, 1904, the son of James and Zena Allison Davan. December 24, 1925, he married Katheryn Elizabeth Clem, who died February 26, 1973. Davan had been a farmer in Richland Township since 1945.

 Survivors include two sons, Carl of Covington and Clarence Jr. of Edgewood, Colorado; three brothers, Michael of Rossville, Illinois, William and Russell, both of Covington; two sisters, Mary Siddens of Danville, Illinois, and Gladys York of Williamsport; five grandchildren and five great grandchildren.

  Funeral services were held Friday afternoon at Bodine and Shelby Funeral Home in Covington with Dr. Gregg Curtis officiating. Burial was in Mount Hope Cemetery at Covington. -s
